Best Pediatric Endocrinology Hospitals; Standards of Diabetes Care Updated

Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia topped U.S. News & World Report’s 2021-2022 list for best hospitals for pediatric diabetes & endocrinology. The number two and three spots went to Boston Children’s Hospital and Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center, respectively.

The Endocrine Society applauded the American Medical Association’s House of Delegates for green-lighting a policy to oppose the criminalization of evidence-based gender-affirming care for transgender youth.

In other news, the society also praised the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to uphold the Affordable Care Act.

The American Diabetes Association updated its 2021 Standards of Medical Care in Diabetes to include new data on the type 1 diabetes treatment teplizumab, SGLT2 inhibitors, and effects of medications for patients with chronic kidney disease.
